Bella Pouches In The Shop

I've completed some more Bella Pouches and listed them in my Etsy shop. It was a lot of fun picking out fabrics for my new pattern to mix and match. I really like the look of a different fabric for the flap.

I think the black one with scissors is my personal favorite. Wouldn't it be adorable to use as a sewing kit? I would love to fill it with pretty spools of thread and tiny embroidery scissors. You can view more pictures of the other pouches in the shop.

I also have the Bella Pouch PDF Pattern available for those of you who are interested in making your own pouches! I've been asked if Kindles would fit in these bags. I don't have a Kindle or Nook on hand to see but the finished dimensions of the bags are 7"H x 8"W so it might just be able to.

Right now, I'm offering all my faithful readers 15% off on all purchases til the end of the week! Just enter PINKSTITCHES15 at checkout. Have a lovely day!

Patchwork Tote

I've been sorting through all my scraps and cutting a bunch of 3.5" squares. Anything smaller got tossed in the trash, except ofcourse for the beautiful little pieces that I couldn't bring myself to part with. I thought it would be fun to make a patchwork tote using some of my blue and grey squares.

I used 25 squares for each side of the bag and sewed them together in five rows of five squares, alternating between grey and blue. Then I quilted them in straight lines before composing my tote. I boxed the corners at 2.5" and added a little lobster clasp to the lining to hang keys or coin purses from. The tote is now in the shop if anyone is interested. Have a wonderful week!

Progress on Quilt

I'm really loving how these blocks are turning out. This fabric line is gorgeous!

I've finished 16 blocks so far, working during nap times and late into the night. I probably would have more done by now but I've been watching episodes of Felicity on Netflix and I'm hooked. The show totally takes me back to my high school/ college years. Good times...

I noticed my etsy shop is looking pretty empty so I'll be working on some more iPad and Kindle cases in between blocks. Here's one that I completed earlier.

My scrap bin is becoming pretty unmanageable so I'm going to be doing some patchwork cases in lots of colors. This one uses mostly purples and greys (one of my favorite combos).

I've listed it in the shop. I need to start using up my ever-growing pile of scraps. Time to hit the Pinterest boards for ideas! Enjoy your Sunday!

Pieced Coasters

I've been making coasters all week during tiny breaks amidst all my "spring cleaning". Another great scrap-buster project.

At first I wanted to quilt them in straight lines, but I just wasn't feelin' it.

Then I tried quilting in a squared spiral but I did not enjoy the final effect. It distorted my coaster and flattened it too much.

Finally, I decided plain and simple works best.

I added a few sets of these in my etsy shop. I hope you enjoy mis-matched things as much as I do.

And don't forget to enter my Blog Swap Giveaway if you haven't already!

I've got another great giveaway planned for tomorrow so come by and check it out! Have a great Thursday!

Drawstring Pouches

Hi everyone! It's so good to be back in Blogland! Although, the time away was definitely worth it. I had an amazing time in El Paso this past week and I will tell you more about that in the coming posts!

Today, I wanted to share some adorable drawstring pouches that I made last week.

I had won a package of Japanese spindle cord in assorted colors from The Ribbon Jar. So when I received them, I immediately thought of making some fun little pouches.

The bags are completely reversible. I used different styles of patchwork for one side and designer fabric panels for the other.

Both pouches are now in my etsy shop. I have a lot of things in store for you this week including tutorials, segments of my trip, and perhaps even a little giveaway (wink, wink). Have a fabulous day!

Marley Bag- Take Two

I'm leaving to El Paso tomorrow!! My husband's family lives in El Paso and my mother-in-law is getting married next weekend. So we are leaving tomorrow and spending the entire week up there. I'm really excited. Have you ever been there? I love going there. It is just so different from anywhere I've ever been.

So before I leave, I want to leave you with another take on The Marley Bag that I made this weekend.

This time I used a really cute pink print with a turquoise lining. Since this quilting fabric wasn't a linen blend, I lined it with heavy canvas so it can still have that slouchy effect. Here is my mom modeling it!

I've added it to my shop but I might take it out and keep it. Either this one or the Echino patchwork one because I just love them so much. Speaking of my shop, I am going to leave it open while I'm gone but I will not be shipping anything out until I get back, which will be next Monday. So please be patient!

I've also got some good news to share with you guys! My little fabric basket won TSWL's Finest of May 2011!!

Thanks to everyone who voted! And thanks to Lelanie for hosting! Hope you all have a fabulous week and miss me tons! I know I'll be missing YOU!! ((How am I going to last an entire week without blogging??))

The Marley Bag

Hi everyone! How was your weekend?? Mine was great. We invited my family over for a BBQ yesterday and I probably gained a good 17 pounds. I just can't seem to have any self control when there are all kinds of good food around like fajita, molleja, pico de gallo, and some "Little Bean Of Heaven" (this is a recipe that my sister and I came up with for beans and, being the cheeseballs that we are, decided to name is as such). SO GOOD! I know I've been away from my blog for a while but that doesn't mean I haven't been a busy little bee!

Presenting my newest creation, The Marley Bag.

I named this bag after my niece, Marley. I wanted a laid back, slouchy feel in this bag and I think it came out exactly as I envisioned. Marley was named after Bob Marley and that is the epitome of all that this bag is! It just screams "Don't worry, be happy".

If you're thinking that this fabric looks familiar, that's because I had used it to make my diaper bag a loooong time ago. I have been hoarding this Echino collection fabric as long as I possibly could. I am in love with any and all Japanese import fabric and I.want.more.

This slouchy lil bag is now in my shop, along with this little guy.

It's another scrappy sunglasses pouch/clutch. Lovin' the combo of fabrics on this one. I used some more of my left over "Just Wing It" by Momo for Moda and a few other selections.

I also have one more project I'm dying to share with you guys but I can't today!! I'll share it with you tomorrow though. It'll be worth the wait, I promise! Now I'm off to a graduation party (to gain another 17 lbs)!!
