Yesterday

Well technically, since it's after midnight here, this took place two days ago. As I mentioned before, my hubby has been home all week on his days off. I've mostly been crossing things off my many lists and making even more lists but on Tuesday we both dropped everything and dedicated the entire day to AJ.

We started off by letting him choose lunch. He chose tacos so we took him to our favorite taco place, which conveniently has an outdoor playground. We enjoyed our food outside in the cool weather while AJ took over the play area. After that, we headed to the movies to watch "Puss in Boots" (which is adorable, by the way). AJ loved it! Our last stop was his favorite place in the whole world.

I just love that big goofy "fake" smile he gives when he's so excited! We let him choose whatever he wanted and did he take.his.time. He started off with Zeus (the big robot from Real Steel), which is what he'd been asking for all week to complete his collection. But after going through every aisle with Zeus in his tiny hands, he traded him in for some John Deere tractors at the very last minute. Oh well, Zeus is back on the wish list.

I love days like these when my little prince feels like a king! It's my favorite!! But we did manage to fit in some mommy time on the way home...

So it's been back to work ever since. I've been working on a mock table set up and I think I pretty much have everything ready. Here's a little sneak peek!

Two more days!! I can't wait to show you guys everything and let you know how it goes. Have a great weekend!

Progress

Checking things off the list one by one! Now that my hubby is home for the entire week, I can go full throttle with this Christmas Market business. I don't wanna show you everything just yet but here are some teasers.

I've finished some pillows and I have more in the making.

I've also made some reusable gift bags.

And here is a glimpse of all the iPad cases and some 10" zipper pouches I've made.

I've still got a bajillion things I need to get done like pricing and display but I'm moving right along! I'm really nervous that I won't sell a single thing. I might just cry if that happens! Just make sure and send me happy thoughts next weekend lol. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

iPad Sleeves

I've been sewing like a crazy person for the last few weeks in preparation for the Christmas Market. I'm sure I won't have anywhere near enough items to sell but I'll be taking custom orders (thanks for the suggestion!) so hopefully, I'll be alright. I've been getting a lot of requests for iPad cases so I thought that would be a good choice to have on hand at the market.

I had a lot of fun playing around with patchwork and quilting. I've made a few more since I took these photos. I'd love to make more when all this is over so I can give away as Christmas presents.

The Holly Jolly Christmas Market is in ONE WEEK! I'm really excited to try out my new toy.

With this Square reader you can swipe credit cards on your iPhone, iPad, or Android and have the funds deposited into your bank account the following day. It even emails receipts to your customers! Amazing! Best of all, it's free. You can find more info here.

I've also listed the scarves from my last post on my etsy shop for custom orders. But I won't be starting on those for another week, when all this madness is over lol. Hope you all enjoy your weekend and spend some time with your loved ones!

Linking up to these par-tays!

Crochet Therapy

AJ and I have been sporting colds for the past several days. That's the thing about living in south Texas. Our bodies get so used to the heat that they are totally thrown off track when we get a few cold days. Needless to say, I haven't really been wanting to be confined to my sewing machine but I couldn't just sit here and be idle. I only have one week and a half before the Christmas Market! So I picked up my crochet hooks and got to work.

Fringe Scarf

Ruffle Scarf

Colorblock Scarf

I've said this many times before but crochet is so therapeutic for me. And I love the portability of it. I can relax on the sofa and watch cartoons with my son. I can sit outside on the porch and watch him play. It's just so relaxing.

I will be offering these three styles of scarves at the Market and also through etsy (after the market) for custom orders. Please message me if you're interested. Apparently, it's already freezing in places outside of Texas. I've even heard that there's something called "snow" in many parts of the world. Haha! I hope you all are enjoying the weather, whatever it may be!

Oh and please come "like" my Facebook page if you haven't already. Thank you!

I'll be linking up at these fabulous parties.

Holidays are Approaching!!

How was your Halloween?? We had a great time at my sister's house giving out candy and eating some delicious wings. I mentioned on my last post that AJ had decided to dress as an airplane this year. I had planned a huge photoshoot in my mind with cute little poses and great close up shots but ofcourse, I forgot my camera! I did manage to get a picture of him with my phone though.

Oh, he just melts my heart! He had so much fun in that costume. You should've seen how he acted when he met "Bumblebee" from Transformers. He chatted up a storm. He was convinced it was really him. So cute!

Well, October is behind us now and my favorite time of the year is approaching! Are you as excited as I am about Christmas??! I know Thanksgiving comes first but Christmas is always on my mind. I have to finish up making things for the Christmas Market, start making Christmas presents annnnd also start brainstorming for the Craftaholics Anonymous Handmade Gift Exchange!

I was determined not to miss it this time around. I was so bummed when I missed it in the spring. Sign ups are all this week so go fill out your forms! I will not be hosting a swap this Christmas because I'm joining this one. So if you were planning on participating in that, I really recommend this swap. There are hundreds of participants (U.S. or international)! You don't wanna miss it.

Alright, gotta get back to sewing! Enjoy your week :-)
