Five Feature Friday- #4

I was blown away by all the amazing creations I saw online this week. Let's jump right to the features.

I am loving the reverse applique on this beautiful pillow that I found at Maureen Cracknell Handmade. Look at all the hand-stitched goodness!

These kidlets are so fun and bright! Fussy Cut made them as gifts and they're going on my list of things to make for CHRISTMAS!! You can find the free tutorial here.

Look at these gorgeous His and Hers nightstands from Sugar Tot Designs. There's a simple elegance to them that makes them simply perfect.

We can never have enough books! Frugal with a Flourish shared this amazing wall of books that she put in her Lil Man's nursery. What a great way to get your child into reading!

And angelahuse offers this unique take on an iPad case. Purse/clutch frames are my latest obsession. I must learn how to make these!

If you were featured this week, please feel free to grab a button from my sidebar for your blog! Keep doing what you're doing! You are an inspiration to us all!

And as always, please take the time to check out these ladies' blogs or etsy shops and drop them a line. It always feels good to get some well deserved praise for your hard work! Have a great weekend!

Quilt Top Finished

I finally finished my quilt top last night and I.LOVE.IT.

If you recall, I was originally going to make a quilt like this using this pretty Denyse Schmidt Hope Valley fabric. Those plans went out the window when I saw this quilt. I just had to make one!

I used 90 8 1/2" blocks using this method, 9 blocks across and 10 blocks down. I'm considering adding a dark grey border to make it larger. Thoughts? I think I just might.

As per some quilters' recommendations, I'm going to Target later to see if I can find a pretty flat sheet to use for the backing. If not, then I'm going to order some Kona solid in Charcoal for the border and back. Still undecided on the quilting and binding. Any suggestions?

I especially want to thank Nicke from Kiss, Kiss... Quilt for being such an angel and a mentor and helping me venture into the quilting world! I'd be lost without my bloggy friends!

Hope Valley

I finally got the nerve to cut into my Hope Valley stack. I want to try to make a queen size quilt for my bedroom but I'm not sure how that's going to work since I'm not thinking of using any sashing and I may not have enough blocks to make it as big as I want. We'll see how those plans end up in the days to come. I love this line. Even the scraps look pretty in my heart shaped trash bowl.

I've almost completed all my blocks. I'll probably finish the rest today. I was going to go with the traditional square quilt but then I saw another quilt that made me change my mind at the last minute. I will share my inspiration with you once I reveal my blocks. I don't want to spoil the surprise!

Have a great week!
