Snap Shots

Oh how I've missed my little blog!
I know I've been MIA for awhile but I'm back. I haven't been sewing much lately, I've been consumed with the holidays, family visits, weekend trips and reading a new series (The Mortal Instruments).

I trust your Christmas was as merry as mine!

We have had a wonderful past couple of weeks with Adrian's birthday/party and Christmas. Adrian was able to get two straight weeks off of work, which is a first for us, and I loved every single minute of it! His family had come down from El Paso for his party on the weekend before Christmas and we all decided to head to San Antonio the next day.

We stayed on the Riverwalk at an amazing historic hotel, The St. Anthony. It was rumored to have been haunted on the 10th floor which I didn't really believe but was still freaked out by it. The inside of the hotel was incredible. I felt like we were in the Titanic.
And the Riverwalk was magical!

There were Cinderella-like horse drawn carriages all lit up like a fairy tale. Even the light drizzle added some charm to the night.

We drove to Austin the following Monday to visit a little fabric shop that I had been dying to see called The Stitch Lab. It is exactly what I would want my own fabric shop to look like. It was cozy and sweet and carried all my favorite designers including Echino and Melody Miller.

Wish I would've taken more pictures! I only had my phone on hand and it was suprisingly packed with early bird visitors so I was only able to get a few decent shots. But lucky for you, Dana from MADE had visited this shop before and she took A LOT of great pictures and wrote about it here.

We got to spend a beautiful Christmas at my mom's house upon our return. AJ and Morgane made a wonky gingerbread house, which they were so proud of!

Zooey joined us somewhere along the way. LOVE HER!!

And I must've been a reeeeally good girl this year because Santa was so good to me! I got lots of great goodies including a new sewing machine and an amazing new lens for my camera, which takes phenomenal close up photos. Observe.

I KNOW!! Can't wait to bring in the new year with some great projects and giveaways I have lined up. Tell me, how was your Christmas??

  5. That looks like a fabulous Christmas. Your trip sounds heavenly and the pictures are great. The little shop looks so inviting- perfect quilt shop. So wish we had a great one like that here. I will have to check out those books- I am looking for something new to read although I get NO sewing done when immersed in a book. :)
